Board Proposed Motions
#1 - Current rule - A copy of a birth certificate is required for all youth and pee wee memberships to be submitted every year to the office.
Proposed Revision:
A copy of a Government Issued form of ID is required for all Youth and Pee Wee Memberships and must be submitted every year to the office.
The change allows us to accept more forms of ID to process memberships
#2 After Review of our 2022 finances, it was recommended to our board that the association collect GST on memberships based in the revenue it was generating. This would bring Open/Select/Youth memberships up to $78.75 and Pee Wee memberships to $26.25. This aligns with other non profit barrel racing associations in Canada as they also collect GST on memberships.
#3 Current Bylaw - There will be 2 officers with signing authority for the MBRA accounts, the president and the treasurer.
Proposed Revision - There will be 3 officers with signing authority for the MBRA accounts, the President, Vice President and the Treasurer.
This will allow the a smoother transition between terms and ensure the association can continue business if something happens to one of the executive.
Discussion Topics
-Hosting incentives, how can we get more events sanctioned through the association
-Select division not being offered at all events, making it hard for them to qualify
